The pandemic has hit us all. All of us want to come out and breathe. Have you been wondering where to go? There are many countries which could rejuvenate you, Austria is one of them. It is a beautiful, mountainous landlocked country of south-central Europe. A country that has always maintained its beauty and architecture. It has maintained its culture and history. It has some of the most breathtaking sceneries. It is super clean and hygienic.

It is at the centre of European traffic between east and west along the great Danubian trade route and between north and south through the magnificent Alpine passes, thus embedding the country within a variety of political and economic systems. The capital of Austria is historic Vienna (Wien), the former seat of the Holy Roman Empire and a city renowned for its architecture.

One of the most favourite tourist places is the Schönbrunn Palace.

The history of Schönbrunn and the buildings that previously stood on this site dates back to the fourteenth century. Emperor Matthias discovered a spring that gave the estate the name it still bears today. A symbol of beautiful baroque architecture, it was once the summer home of Austria’s Emperor Franz Joseph and Maria Theresa. The interior of the palace is amazing. The palace is magnificent, the furniture befitting of a queen and in the best of taste. The gardens have everything that art has ever created said Johann Edler Von Kurzbock,1779.

Innere Stadt is the innermost district of Vienna. Its historic centre dates back to the Roman ages and has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. It is encircled by the Ring Road (Ringstraße), a grand boulevard constructed along the old city walls, which were torn down starting in 1858. Along the Ringstraße are many famous and grand buildings, including the City Hall (Rathaus), the Austrian Parliament, the Hofburg Palace, the Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisches Museum), the Museum of Art History (Kunsthistorisches Museum), and the State Opera House (Wiener Staatsoper). The very central point of Innere Stadt is the famous St. Stephen’s Cathedral (Stephansdom), perhaps the most recognizable symbol of Vienna. From there, many of Vienna’s most famous streets expand in every direction, including Graben and Kärntner Strasse

Vienna is situated on the western edge of the Vienna Basin, on the gentle slopes of the Vienna Woods, a branch of the foothills of the Alps. This “Green Lung” is part of the green belt. In 2005, the Vienna Woods was also designated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO – a designation for areas with a special cultural and natural landscape. A world city partially situated in a Biosphere Reserve is not only something special but also unique anywhere in the world! So hike around the vineyard in Vienna woods.

Alpbach occupies a beautiful location on a sunny plateau at approx. 1.000m above sea level. With its homogenous architectural style and lovely floral decorations, Alpbach was voted “Austria´s most beautiful village”. Holidays in Alpbach would mean clear air, lush meadows, and breathtaking mountain views, and spending relaxing days in Alpbachs’ typical timber houses. Its picture-postcard beauty is unique in the Tyrol! Visit Alpbachtal the most beautiful village in Austria where it is compulsory to make wooden-style buildings.

Gmund is a hidden gem in the Carinthian region that is well worth your time. Easy on the eyes and the budget, this little town is a fantastic place to spend a few days soaking up some traditional Austrian culture. Over the past few decades, Gmund has been transformed from a sleepy village into a vibrant town of art, artists, galleries, and studios. Whether you are happy just to explore the art and history or you are looking for something a little more adventurous, Gmund has it all. Visit Gmünd: This is an artistic hub of Austria. Enjoy galleries, workshops, art studios, and special exhibition spaces.

Graz is Austria’s second-largest city – and one of its hidden secrets. This historic city in the southern region of Styria has plenty to flaunt, especially for those foodies, history buffs, and nature lovers. Visit cool and colourful in Graz. Enjoy gastronomy alongside the best restaurants and learn culinary arts.

A fascinating alpine landscape, one that stretches much further than the eye can see. With a surface area of 1,856 square kilometres, the Hohe Tauern National Park is the largest protected area in the Alps. Forests, mountain lakes, impressive waterfalls, wild and wonderful rivers, and glaciated peaks characterize the National Park landscapes, interspersed with lush alpine pastures. It has 266 peaks over 3,000m, 551 lakes, 279 streams and rivers, and 250 glaciers. A third of all plant species native to Austria grow here.

Innsbruck, capital of Austria’s western state of Tyrol, is a city in the Alps that’s long been a destination for winter sports. Innsbruck is also known for its Imperial and modern architecture. The Nordkette funicular, with futuristic stations designed by architect Zaha Hadid, climbs up to 2,256m from the city centre for skiing in winter and hiking or mountaineering in warmer months. Visit Innsbruck to enjoy 140 drinking fountains.

Try crystal clear mountain spring water which is rich in minerals. Enjoy a farming tour with family in Tirol. One of Austria’s most luxurious ski resorts, ritzy Kitzbühel, known as “Kitz,” basks between the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn mountains. Every winter, Hahnenkamm’s Streif slope is the site of one of the hardest downhill runs of the World Cup Ski Race. In summer, this Tirolean town sees tennis fans arrive in droves for the Austrian Open. It is winding, cobblestone medieval streets are packed with sports cars and upscale boutiques as Europe’s glitterati descend on these hallowed slopes. Enjoy skiing in Kitzbühel
